Pacquiao Looks Forward to Marquez Fight

Ahead of the Marquez Pacquiao fight, the speculation is alive and well. Manny Pacquiao doesn’t duck the tough ones, that’s the take-home message we get from today’s statement, “It’s on. Watch out for it!” that Pacquiao made in reference to his November 12 bout with the Latino puncher who refuses to go to the canvass. Will Pacman be able to do what Floyd Mayweather Jr. couldn’t and knock Marquez out? Most people might think so, but don’t count Marquez out so easily. When Marquez vs. Pacquiao tickets go on sale, we’ll see real boxing fans heading out to Vegas to watch a bruising spectacle between two real fighters. It’s been suggested that Pacquiao will be too much for Marquez as the Latin fighter moves up in weight to face the Filipino. Fighter Juan Diaz recently said he thinks Pacman “is going to blow [Marquez] away”, and that the 144-lb catchweight is simply too big for Marquez to make with any real muscle. Discussions initially centered around a 145 to 143 catchweight, with each fighter’s camp insisting on one or the other. The 144 pound decision may be the undoing of Marquez, but we have to wait and see. There’s a growing body of belief that Marquez should have won at least one of the two previous fights between the two, and many see the November 12 Vegas date as an opportunity for Marquez to show the world what he’s capable of. It’s not gonna be easy, that’s for sure, but Marquez is no mug, and he will be coming out fighting.
